The Most BEAUTIFUL Blushes | Too Faced

Before even writing anything, I feel this may already be my all time favourite post I've ever written. Yep. Purely because I am so excited to share the beauty that is; Too Faced Love Flush blushes.

Firstly if you've never heard of, or even had a glimpse of these little beauties then where have you been?! The first time I saw the Too Faced Love Flush blushes was when I was casually scrolling through Instagram and I saw they were being launched over on the Too Faced insta page, that was when I knew I had to own one. *sighs, as my bank balance was not looking pretty at the time*

Even so, I popped the shade Justify My Love into my basket and just hoped that the £25.00 I'd just spent on a blush was worth it.

Left- Baby Love. Right- Justify My Love

& oh golly was it ever worth it.

Ive honestly never seen such a beautiful blush. So beautiful that it took me a whole 4 months to even use the thing! The packaging itself is just to die for, it reminds me of a Polly Pocket from my childhood, and the actual blush is imprinted with an adorable little bunny pattern that unfortunately does smudge away after a few uses, which is sad but along as you take enough pictures like I have, you can treasure it forever. I'm so sad.

The blush claims to last 16 hours which I thought was pretty impressive, although I don't actually know anyone who has committed to wearing a full face of makeup for 16 hours, maybe I should try that one day haha.. However I have worn it for a full working day (9-5) and it lasted right up until 5oclock, so I don't one bit doubt its staying power.

The shade Baby Love.

The shade Justify My Love

Justify My Love is a cool toned pink, with a slight silver shimmer, this looked amazing when I was slightly paler.

& Baby Love (my favourite out of the two) is a gorgeous rose colour, with a slight gold shimmer. Ive been wearing this one a lot recently as I find now I have a slight tan from Mexico, it complements my skin tone perfectly.

I am completely head over heels in love with these 2 blushes, and Im constantly browsing the Debenhams website to see if any other shade takes my fancy, they do, but Im trying my hardest to wait until I use the two I already have. Its taking a lot of self control haha.

If you're interested in picking one up for yourself, and you're from the UK, I would really recommend buying from the Debenhams website, it just means you won't have to pay a silly amount to get it shipped over from America!

What do you think? Could you bring yourself to actually use them?

Lotsa Love,
Sophxo

My Lipstick Collection Has.. Grown?!

The last time I shared my lipstick collection on my blog, I'm pretty sure I owned about 10. I now own 27 that I essentially, 'put on display', the rest are neatly tucked away in my makeup drawers. I honestly dread to think how many I actually own, I've never counted, I don't think i'd like to!

Im well aware that no one really needs this many lipsticks in their lives, my boyfriend would look at these pictures and have a field day pointing to the ones that look the same shade, but as he isn't a lipstick hoarder like myself, he'll never understand ;)

The gold lipsticks at the front are the newest ones to the collection, you can read about them in an earlier post HERE. These are a beautiful set from Charlotte Tilbury, I won't focus on these too much as I'm sure a few of you would have read their individual post, they're just beautiful aren't they? I absolutely love the gold packaging. You can find this particular set on the Charlotte Tilbury website.

This clear acrylic case is from Tiger, I think it was actually made to put post it notes and pens in, but I found it perfect to fit lipsticks, and my too faced blush in. it was around £4 which was an absolute bargain!

I plan to do a few posts soon going into detail about each brand, the colours I have & my opinions on them, would that be something you would find interesting/helpful?

Lotsa Love,
Sophxo

Should You Be Personal In Blog Posts?

Ive been doing life updates for a while now, and personal posts, because for me it's quite nice to look back on for memories. Whilst I say this, it reminds me of so many tweets I saw a few days ago that I wanted your opinion on.

I'm not sure who wrote them, but they were saying that they weren't a fan of personal posts because they don't appeal to brands wanting to collaborate? I don't want to say something wrong or word it wrong but it was along the lines of, don't write about irrelevant things in sponsored posts or personal things in your posts about makeup as that's not what people are there to read it for. It really got my goat.. When I've worked with a brand in the past I like to add a few personal touches in the post as otherwise it all feels a bit robotic. When I've bought something that I want to talk about, I get that people probably clicked the post because they want to know about the product but with me if you don't want to know about little personal touches or whatever, I'm probably not the blog you want to be reading. I dunno, it just felt like another "this is how you should blog otherwise people won't be interested" statement which I didn't like, you do you i'll do me thanks pal. It wasn't even aimed at me personally but it still annoyed me haha.

Ive also seen people saying things like, don't talk about your personal life on your beauty blog, then see how many collaborations you get. I don't know about you but for me blogging isn't about seeing how many brands approach me, I do it because I like doing it. When did it become writing purely to receive benefits from brands, do you not just enjoy makeup or the product you're talking about? Because my blog is personal & (i think) gives a good reflection on who I actually am as a person, when I'm approached by a brand or company its because they like me for me as well as the fact they want to get their product out there? I think it's much more rewarding when you're approached by someone because they like the way you write, or because they like the way you get your point across. Is this even making sense? who knows, I just thought it was all a bit silly, and I wanted to know your opinion on it.

Do you try to steer away more personal posts because it reflects badly on how you might look to brands/companies? Or do you just do you and not care what anyone else thinks? Just a thought.

Lotsa love,
Sophxo

My Long Hair Is Finally Gone!

For years now I've been saying that my hair needed a good chop, but Ive always been too scared to actually do it. On Saturday just gone, I just thought "sod it" and headed to my hairdressers to get it all cut off.

Initially I didn't want it cut too much as I loved the length, but the more we got talking the more I realised that my hair was pretty dead at the ends and it needed to go. We chatted for a good while about the kind of cut and colour I wanted, I opted for my hair to be just above my boobs (this was a huge change for me as my hair before was super long before which is what most people know me for!) and to go a bit lighter for Autumn.

She chopped it off first and added lots of layers, I had no shape or detail in my hair before, so instantly I felt like it's now complimented my face shape. She then moved on to the colouring, which took the longest as I asked for Balayage. you'll have to google it as it's tricky to explain!

4 long hours later and it's all done! I absolutely LOVE my new hair, and wish I did it sooner. I think I'm going to gradually go lighter ready for summer next year. Although I loved my long hair and I do miss it, I think this suits me much more & I look a little older!

Looking at pictures of before I think my hair looks absolutely vile haha! This is what it looked like before it was chopped

& This is the after, it's so much better, takes half the time to wash and style, and that means more time in bed in the morning hehe!

I Moved House!

Yep thats right pals after all the hassle and stress of not having anywhere to live, I finally moved into somewhere new.

The house itself is a year old, so going from my old ancient old fashioned house to something so modern was really weird, we've been here for 3 days now and it already feels like home which is lovely.

My bedroom here is SO much better than my old one, its a lot more spacious, and it feels more me. I spent the moving day focusing on my room and I've just about got it how I want it, apart from my curtains, I've had to pop some sheer pink things in my bay window at the moment because the curtains I want aren't in stock yet- however it does actually look quite nice haha!

I created a short little video over on my channel to briefly show you around my new room, Enjoy!

The Most BEAUTIFUL Lipsticks!

I can't actually believe I get to write this post as I never in a million years thought I would be able to say "I OWN 12 CHARLOTTE TILBURY LIPSTICKS OMFGGGG"

If you follow my Instagram you would've already seen a little sneak peak of these bad boys, and oh boy are they incredible. My lovely, generous, bloody amazing boyfriend Matt bought me these as a 21st Birthday present, (its not actually my 21st until the 25th of Oct, but Matt said he was worried that they'd melted as he'd left them in a boiling hot room, they hadn't, luckily!)

Now I've gotten over the shock of being gifted these haha, I can now share their beauty with you guys, because lets be honest, you need to appreciate them for all their worth hehe. I will warn you this post is going to be very photo heavy as I just loved every picture I took of them, so if that's not your thing, skip well ahead!

The lipsticks came beautifully packaged in a purple box, which was actually really hard to get into, or maybe I was just rushing haha, it was like trying to open an iPhone box, and we all know how difficult that is for the first time! The letter that came with (that isn't actually a letter, more of a receipt) reminded me of something you'd get on your invitation to Hogwarts, I pretended for a few seconds not gunna lie haha. Even before I opened the box it all felt very special.

In the box you will find 12 individually packed lipsticks, most of which are matte, my fave, however 3 have a slight shine, but I couldn't tell much of a difference to be honest. You also get an acrylic stand to put them in, this I LOVED as it meant I put them on display right away & didn't have to go out to buy something to pop them in.

Firstly, how beautiful is the packaging?! Im a sucker for anything gold or rose gold, so these are basically perfection to me haha. Secondly, the colours, I don't think Matt could've picked a better set for me, and even though I own another 15 lipsticks from different brands, I don't have anything like these.

Individually, the lipsticks would set you back a hefty £23 each. However they are such brilliant quality, and I think the look of them speaks for itself. On the website under the description for Charlotte Tilbury's matte lipstick, she states that;

- They contain orchid extract which softens your lips, & products and hydrates them.

- They contain 3D glowing pigments which give your lips the illusion they're fuller.

- The lipsticks are square, meaning easier application as they're the same shape as a lipstick brush.

- & They're also paraben free!

I absolutely love the detail that has gone into each and every one, they're in perfect condition and I love that theres a little imprint on the lipstick itself, they're so pretty and I cannot wait to put them on display in my new room!

Again, a huge huge HUGE thank you to Matt, I'm so grateful for such an incredible and thoughtful gift, you clearly know me very very well!

Have you ever tried any of Charlotte Tilbury Makeup line before?! I've heard only good things!

Lotsa Love, Sophxo

Zoella Sweet Inspirations

Last weekend I made my way into Superdrug to see if I could find any of Zoella's new bath product range, Sweet Inspirations, inspired by the yummy scent of macarons. To my surprise everything was there, which is much different to the previous range; everything was gone every time I had a little look; maybe I timed this perfectly and the shelves had just been restocked!

Nevertheless, I wanted to pick up 3 things. Initially I wasn't entirely sure which 3 things I wanted, but I spotted the Bath Latte, Body Mist, and Fizz bar almost instantly because of the beautiful packaging, so these 3 things made their way home with me!

How amazing is the packaging though, I almost didn't want to open the Fizz bar or the Bath Latte because they are so pretty; they looked amazing next to bath because of the gold and pastel colours. I managed to salvage the Fizz bar packaging, Im not sure how, but I can look at it with heart eyes for a little while longer, haha.

The very first thing I tried was the Body Mist, which I picked up for £8.00. The bottle is actually glass which I didn't realise; it makes it feel so much more expensive than it is just because of that. On initial spray I couldn't really work out what it smelled like, I just knew I liked it, (sorry!). I put it on at  half 8 in the morning, and could still smell it at 3oclock the same day, I much preferred the scent as it wore off, it smelled a lot like vanilla, it actually reminded me of candy floss, very sweet but subtle. I was very impressed it lasted all day! People were actually coming up to me and asking me what I had on because it smelled so good, they too thought it was vanilla!

The next thing I tried was the Le Fizz bar, this was £5.00. I used a whole half of the product for my bath, because my bath is absolutely huge and really deep, so using a row of 3 just wouldn't have been enough. Im not sure if this means it was good value for money for me, it kinda depends how you look at it, I didn't mind too much as I loved the scent, it's the exact same as the other products. If you're someone who found the £5.00 price tag being a bit much, I think if you had a bath the same size as mine, you'd be a bit grumpy that you had to use basically half the bar in one go. But of course that is optional, you don't have to. But for me I didn't mind, as I think this was my favourite product out of the 3 I picked up. The fizz didn't last too long, it was quite quick, but again this didn't bother me as I was more focused on the amazing smell. I love this one!

The last thing I picked up was the Bath Latte; which I picked up for £6.00. This looks amazing sat next to my bath. I have a big obsession with collecting cute little jars, and old school milk bottles, so as soon as I saw this I had to pick it up just for the pretty packaging. I only used a dribble of it, horrible way of explaining it sorry haha, but yeah, literally just a tiny amount as I found a little goes a long way. Again, as my bath is so huge, the water pressure isn't great so with any product I find it tricky to make many bubbles, and like any other product I did have to help this one along it's way, and by that I mean swishing my hands around in the water a little. I didn't mind though, as it's something I normally do anyway, it's just a reflection of my poor water pressure haha. The smell again, is just amazing, I would really recommend using the Bath Latte and the Fizz bar together, as they just complement each other perfectly!

Overall, I found myself seriously impressed and just in LOVE with all of the products I picked up, and I will be purchasing them all again, and again, and again. Hats off to you Zoe, what an amazing range you've created!

Have you tried any of Zoe's products, old or new?

Lotsa Love,
Soph xo

My Favourite Autumn Lipstick

How bloody beautiful is this lipstick?!  Need I say more?!

Whilst browsing the Mac website this week, I spotted this little beaut. It's called Diva. Yep, I expect you heard of it aaaages ago, as did I. At least I hope you did because the internet world went crazy over it many moons ago, but apparently I didn't want to jump on the band wagon as here I am obsessing over it months later!

Theres just something extra special about Mac lipsticks, probably because they're so expensive.. Im used to spending around £7 on a lipstick so when I splurge on a Mac one, I have to make sure it's one I'm actually going to wear. Im the type of person who you'll always see wearing a dark berry shade, Diva is me down to a T and I absolutely love it. Considering Diva being a matte finish, I kinda half expected it to be super drying but it was the complete opposite? I haven't heard good things about Macs matte lipstick so I didn't really have high hopes for this one, but it genuinely wasn't drying at all and I barely noticed I had it on! the application was really easy, although probably even easier with a lip liner, and it didn't drag my lips at all. Its also super pigmented and isn't at all streaky.

I did notice though, that I have so many cheaper alternatives that are almost identical to Diva. Rimmel's 107 for example. Probably my most loved, favourite lipstick, when I popped Diva on I honestly couldn't tell the difference between the two. Which is pretty annoying but I don't mind because they're both fab haha.

I think darker berry shades are so perfect for this time of year, and I just know i'll be wearing them throughout the next few months. I'm so glad because I almost felt a little lost in summer!

Do you have any signature shades you always wear? I definitely couldn't pull off a paler pink!

Lotsa love,
Sophxo
